Tips & Tricks
Eating around Sofia Peace Hostel
Sofia Peace Hostel, located in the centre of town, is surrounded by eateries to suit every taste. We offer breakfast, but if you are feeling hungry at any other time of the day, here are the closest tried and tested places. Do explore further!
Karnigradska Street, starting opposite the courtyard, has a few pastry shops for the peckish. Try a banichka (crispy cheesy filo pastry) for a traditional Bulgarian snack.
Pizzeria Primavera (head left in Knyaz Boris Str, it's at the first corner) offers pizzas, salads, and other generic European food at a reasonable price. The summer garden is a plus.
Murphy's Irish Pub is 50 metres down the road from us, in Karnigradska Str, if you want to mix with expats, watch a football game, or if you happen to be British and home sick.
Vegetarians can generally eat well in Bulgarian restaurants, though a vegan diet might cause some confusion (since vegetarian meals are cheese and egg-heavy). If you want an entirely veggie / vegan restaurant and bakery, turn right and down Knyaz Boris Street until you reach Sluntse i Luna (Sun and Moon).
